L&G receive top marks

Legal & General has been rated the top provider for life protection, critical illness, income protection and menu protection by the Financial Technology Research Centre

The insurer received an eee rating in all four categories of the protection e-excellence studies. The annual protection survey assesses providers quality of e-commerce service to financial advisers.

In total, four providers were awarded an overall rating of eee this year, but L&G was the only provider to have achieved the rating in all the product categories. Providers are assessed across all e-trading platforms, both online and offline.

Bonnie Burns, protection marketing director at L&G, says: Reputation for good service through technology counts for a lot and its good to know that we have a winning formula.

“We dont intend to sit on our laurels though and we aim to raise the bar even higher in 2007.

Technology is just one of the important ingredients of good service and is not a replacement for having experienced and knowledgeable people who deal with advisers, underwrite policies and process business.

“We realise that quality technology needs to be combined with a full service proposition and competitive products to be able to offer the whole package.
