GMAC-RFC has appointed Mike Brakes to the recently created position of chief information officer and promoted Craig Beresford to head of asset sales.
The creation of a CIO position is one of several proactive steps GMAC-RFC is making to deliver technology solutions that enable continued growth in the residential lending market. Brakes will be responsible for delivery of the IT strategy across all of GMAC-RFC's UK businesses. Brakes has an extensive background as an IT professional. His previous position was as managing director and deputy chief information officer at Aon Limited, where he spent seven years.
Robert Appel, chief executive officer at GMAC-RFC, says: “I am delighted to welcome Mike to his role as chief information officer. This is a board level position that has been created to ensure that our technology enables customers to experience high quality service with ease and consistency as we expand our business.”
Beresford joined GMAC-RFC in January 2003 as an asset sales manager. Prior to joining GMAC-RFC he worked for Britannia Treasury Services and has five years experience in capital markets and eight years experience in the mortgage industry.
