BDS Mortgage Group has launched into the general insurance market through a tie-up with BDML Connect.
The group’s insurance arm, bran-ded BDS General Insurance, will have a panel of 12 insurers and these will be made available across BDS’ 134-strong network.
The service will soon be opened up to all brokers using BDS, whether they are appointed representatives or di-rectly authorised firms.
BDML Connect, which is part of Ca-pita Insurance Services, is a third party administrator specialising in GI.
Bob Hope, head of sales and network at BDS, says: “We are delighted to offer this service and there are now no excuses for brokers not to bring in buildings and contents insurance business along with mortgages.”
Paul Stacy, operations director at BDML Connect, says: “With this BDML panel, we can deliver common policy wordings across up to 12 household insurers and provide an efficient service. The commission level for advisers has been set at 27.5%.”
