Platform extends online service

Platform has extended its online system to allow brokers to submit mortgage applications either directly or through packagers.

The specialist lender says the move comes as a result of consultation with its packager partners and will leave less room for errors as it won’t be necessary to re-key data.

Sean McDonnell, head of e-comm- erce at Platform, says: “Our clickapplication facility has received a positive response since its launch last year, with over 80% of applications now submitted online.

“As a lender that supports both di-rect and packaged business, an extension of this service for packagers was a natural step. We feel it will offer time-saving benefits to our packaging partners and we look forward to working with them to further extend our e- commerce facilities.”

Chris Warner, mortgage underwriter at Jigsaw Packaging, says: “We have been using Platform’s clickapplication facility for a short while and are delighted with the results. Clear navigation and ease of use are major incentives, as are the obvious time-saving benefits.

“Platform has taken the needs of packagers into account and has launch- ed a value-added service.”

David Morgan, director of retail operations at TFC Homeloans, says: “From the receipt of our first clickapp-lication, it took just 25 minutes to produce an offer.

“We recognise that IT developments such as this are key to enabling us to offer brokers the best possible service.”
