Get stripping to aid the homeless

Shelter and the England football team sponsor Nationwide Building Society are calling on businesses across the country to Strip4Shelter and blow the final whistle on homelessness and bad housing.

The charity is asking businesses to encourage staff to replace their clothes with the colours of their favourite club or national team’s strip or the strip itself during the 2010 World Cup and make a donation to the charity.

In the 90 minutes it takes to play a football match 39 households are threatened with homelessness.

Rio Ferdinand, Captain of the England team, says: “I’m calling on the public to not only get involved and support the team this summer, but to also get behind the Strip4Shelter fundraising campaign.”
