Mole has discovered a certain managing director bears an uncanny resemblance to a Hollywood A-lister with the same name as our editor extraordinaire’s mother.

As a result, he decided a game of six degrees of separation was in order – yes, you’re right, it was a slow day at Strategy Towers.

So here goes. Donald Sutherland is the doppelgänger of Lockhart Bruce, managing director of Opus Mortgages.

His surname is the first name of action man Bruce Willis, aka John McClane in the Die Hard films.

That sounds similar to Link Lending managing director John Maclean, who was interviewed last year by editor-in-chief Robyn Hall.

Hall’s mother’s maiden name is Sutherland – just like Donald. Et voila.


Rabbitt resigns from Nationwide
