Mortgage Intelligence aids its members with CIExpert link-up

Distributor Mortgage Intelligence has adopted critical-illness comparison service CIExpert for its members to use.

The announcement comes after a pilot scheme that saw a number of MI member firms using the CIExpert online system, which allows brokers to compare details of critical-illness policies.

Mortgage Intelligence has now made the service available to all members.

CIExpert director Alan Lakey says: “Mortgage Intelligence has evaluated the business benefits generated for some of their leading AR firms. This has demonstrated how the effortless access to our exclusive research helps advisers to convey, with much greater clarity, the value of critical-illness plans to their clients.”

Mortgage Intelligence managing director Sally Laker says: “CIExpert enables advisers to carry out detailed research in a fraction of the time, therefore allowing them to focus on providing the best advice for their customers.

“This is an opportunity for our members to increase protection income.”

CIExpert.co.uk, which launched in March 2012, allows advisers to key in client details and the website will generate a list of suitable products. For each policy, the site offers a detailed list of conditions and claim statistics.

The site also has a section aimed at consumers, detailing the different types of CI plans, common misconceptions about the products and what conditions are the most likely to occur.
