Saffron Walden Herts & Essex has donated £10,000 towards the construction of a suspension bridge across the River Stort at Harlow Outdoors.
It has been built especially for Active Works which organises outdoor activities for young people with disabilities.
Malcolm Ferris Lay, chairman of Active Works, says: “The bridge has been designed to enable young people with a wide range of difficulties to cross the river. We are delighted with the result and are confident many hudreds of people will be able to enjoy crossing the bridge for years to come thanks to the support of Saffron Walden Herts & Essex.”
Richard Bolton, chief executive of Saffron Walden Herts & Essex, says: “I feel as though we have bridged the gap – not only physically across a river, but in giving something back to the community in which we serve.”
