SPF recruits agricultural lending specialist

His expertise includes the financing of estates, farms, food processors, equestrian centres, garden centres and rural diversification projects.

Prior to joining, Ashbridge worked for four years at the Agribusiness unit of Clydesdale where he held a portfolio of rural clients in the South-East and his duties included targeting new customers and developing the business. He arranged finance for a variety of properties ranging from equestrian centres and fruit farms right up to large estates. The level of lending involved ranged in size from £250,000 up to £5m.

Prior to this role he worked for Andersons, the farm consultants in East Anglia, where he managed farms and estates. He is also a graduate of the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester.

He will be based out of the SPF Guildford office but will be taking on a national role for SPF in this arena. He has begun visiting the rural offices within FPDSavills and has already received some leads. FPD Savills is the largest land manager in the country.

Simon Dice, director at SPF, says: “We are delighted at Marks arrival. We consider this area of lending to be a large source of untapped business. Mark will be of benefit to SPF as he is bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in this area. Farms and estates for example have always been a problem for us in the past. Having someone on board who can deal with these enquiries will be of great benefit to us.”

No housing market crash, says NAEA

Peter Bolton King, chief executive of the NAEA, says: “For a number of good reasons we believe the IMF is needlessly flying a kite and scaring homeowners. Praise for the FSA where it&#39s due

Mortgage regulation must be a seriously thankless task for FSA officials. Appearances at industry events invariably include run-ins with disgruntled practitioners and if professional popularity is something they had hoped for in life, Canary Wharf was perhaps not the place to seek it. It may come as slight consolation then that the AMI helpdesk received […]
