Inter-Alliance Group in general insurance link up with Higos

Higos will provide a fee-paying referral service for those within all Group Companies who do not want to advise on general insurance but still wish to provide this service to their clients. Higos, established in 1992, is a specialist general insurance broker covering a full range of both personal and commercial products.

Helen Davis, distribution development director for Inter-Alliance, says: “We wanted to provide a way of giving all our intermediaries the ability to offer, and earn income from, a full range of general insurance products without the need of becoming authorised to advise.

“The referral system with Higos is the ideal solution and we are delighted with the link-up and with the exceptionally competitive commission rates we have secured for our members. This is an ideal complement to our existing relationships with CETA and Payment Shield”

Stuart Wilson, mortgage development director for Inter-Alliance, says: “The addition of Higos considerably strengthens our GI offering, allowing our members to advise and / or refer as they wish, whilst also giving them access to every type of personal and commercial general insurance product. Although relevant for all our intermediaries, the offer is particularly attractive to our mortgage intermediaries who are already active in the general insurance market.”

Ian Gosden, managing director for Higos says: “We are thrilled to be linking up with such a powerful distribution organisation as Inter-Alliance especially when they look like growing even bigger with the Millfield merger. There is no doubt they are destined to be a major player in the

mortgage market and we intend to support their general insurance needs in every way we can.”

Richard Fox, currently compliance director at the MCCB, is to be SMP&#39s chief executive from November 1, the date it will be up and running. […]

Praise for the FSA where it&#39s due

Mortgage regulation must be a seriously thankless task for FSA officials. Appearances at industry events invariably include run-ins with disgruntled practitioners and if professional popularity is something they had hoped for in life, Canary Wharf was perhaps not the place to seek it. It may come as slight consolation then that the AMI helpdesk received […]

Trigold problem still not fixed

Trigold has come under fire again over problems with its software in accessing Lloyds TSB quotations and printing Key Facts Illustrations. Trigold&#39s spokesman Richard Hurst told Mortgage Strategy two weeks ago there was no problem with the Lloyds TSB KFI and that the issue merely related to the way the system mapped different fields of […]

MGM receives final authorisation

Stephen Maskens, manager of MGM Home Finance, says: “This is excellent news and testament to the importance and hard work MGM placed on working within the new regulatory regime. “We look forward now to working closely with our appointed representatives with no further steps necessary to operate in the new mortgage market.”
