Abbey launches Scottish Provident eBusiness system

Abbey for Intermediaries has launched its new generation of eBusiness systems for Scottish Provident protection business this week.

To support the launch, Scottish Provident is offering enhanced commission at a special introductory rate of an extra 10% of rates until the end of March 2004 on all applications received electronically.

As well as being able to run quotes offline exactly as before, the new quatations on desk system means intermediaries can now pre-populate application forms from the quote. This means no re-entering of details, and complete self assurance application forms anywhere off-line.

Brokers can also transmit completed applications electronically individually or in batches when next online and download any rate changes or new product information to keep up to date.

Some 12,000 existing users will receive an updated disk with the new features by post this month.

Nick Kirwan, head of marketing and product development at Scottish Provident, says: “The improvements made are all about making it quicker and easier for intermediaries who do business electronically to sell protection.

“Because the online system is now linked directly to the mainframe system, clean cases can go on risk immediately and the policy can be issued straight away.

“SP believes in offering intermediaries choice in terms of how they do business with the company. Whether brokers prefer to use paper or electronic application forms, SP wants its processes to be the best on offer.”
