Criticising PIQs will not improve the buying process

I would like to respond to Peter Mounty’s article in the April 13 issue of Mortgage Strategy entitled ‘We need PIQs like a hole in the head’.

I take offence at the sarcastic impugning of my integrity in the article. AHIPP and its members have worked with Property Information Questionnaires in a test environment for many months, in particular as part of preparations for an exchange-ready pack.

Feedback from consumers has been positive and the trials have reduced the time to exchange of contract by 21 days.

It is uninformed commentary such as Mounty’s that appears to advocate maintaining the status quo of a broken home buying and selling process to the detriment of consumers.
