Early start mooted for parts of MMR

The Financial Services Authority says it may impose aspects of its Mortgage Market Review earlier than 2013.

In its Retail Conduct Risk Outlook published last week, the regulator says its rules are not due to come into effect before summer 2013.

But the report says: “However, if there is widespread support for particular proposals, for example, in relation to mortgage arrears charges, we may implement some aspects sooner.”
