FirstRungNow has described today’s Budget as disappointing for first-time buyers.
Helen Adams, managing director of first-time buyers advice-site FirstRungNow.com, says there is little that will be particularly helpful for first-time buyers.
She says: Removing Stamp Duty from the purchase of zero-carbon homes is worthy and welcome but at the moment the number of these homes is very low something for house-builders and sellers to work on.
In terms of saving for a deposit, increased tax free savings within cash ISAs will help but why wait so long to implement it?
Of course the best thing in the Budget was the reduction in Income Tax which will make everything a little bit more affordable lets hope it doesnt effect inflation too much.
Adams adds: Overall, Im rather disappointed on behalf of first-time buyers.
FirstRungNow have been campaigning for some time now that first-time buyers should be exempt from Stamp Duty as it is inhibiting their ability to take their first step towards buying a home.
Weve recently placed a petition on our site and already almost 1000 people have already signed up petitioning against stamp duty.
We are very disappointed as this Budget seems to offer very little to please or help first-time buyers.
