JEREZ 2006: Securitisation market not in peril, says Mortgages PLC

Mortgages PLC has rubbished claims that there are currently difficulties in the securitisation market, and adds two divisions of securitisation lenders are emerging.

Speaking at the Mortgage Summit in Jerez, Peter Beaumont, deputy chief executive officer at Mortgages PLC, says some of the lenders entering the securitisation market have been na and the knock-on impact has meant a creation of a first and second division in the securitisation market which investors are now wising up to.

In May Rooftop Mortgages saw its securitisation rating downgraded, sparking concerns that the entire securitisation market could be adversely affected.
