HERO OF THE WEEK is Abbey for launching its scheme whereby brokers who package cases properly will be rewarded with preferential terms including the ability to fast-track cases. This is a good way of improving packaging that should help all of us. If the overall quality of packaging improves all applications will be processed quicker.


VILLAINS OF THE WEEK are politicians. I’m totally fed up with the general election already. It’s in the newspapers, on the television, on the internet, on the radio and God knows how many trees have been pulled up to produce all the flyers sent through the post. It’s like a dull soap opera and I wish it was over.



Sub-prime repossessions at lowest since 2005

Repossessions in UK sub-prime residential mortgage-backed securities declined to 1.48% of the outstanding balance in February 2010, a level last recorded in August 2005, according to Moody’s Investors Service.

Countrywide awards its high achievers

More than 400 Countrywide employees from across the UK have taken part in Countrywide’s annual Chairman’s League Awards, which recognises individual and team performances throughout its UK network of more than 1,200 offices.
