The Mortgage Mole: A case of mistaken identity

Mole

A case of mistaken identity

Mole couldn’t help but shovel the comedy dirt on this one. Blunder of the week goes to the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries’ chairman Pat Bunton, who managed to wrongly introduce Tony Hawk, the guest speaker at last week’s annual AMI Awards, as Tony Hank.

Hawk took the mistake with good humour and told the audience he was accustomed to being wrongly mistaken on the other side of the Atlantic, where he is regularly mobbed by teenage kids believing him to be the American pro-skater and actor Tony Hanks that (almost) shares his name.

And Bunton is in good company though when it comes to slip-ups and, let’s face it, it’s an occupational hazard if you are a TV or radio presenter to get somebody’s name wrong.

Hopefully Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt is not scheduled-in for next year’s awards!

Those tough mudders..

News has reached mole that The Buy to Let Business will be dusting off the wellies and dirtying their hands this October as they plan to struggle through the “Tough Mudder” challenge. The team will be completing a 12-mile mud-marathon in aid of the Ollie Young foundation, which helps fund paediatric tumour research and support.

Mole is relishing the prospect of watching 20 couch potatoes struggle through miles of mud but, with obstacles named Arctic Enema and Electroshock Therapy to contend with, mole is worried that few may ever return to their beloved office chairs thereafter.

But regardless of who survives, the team are raising money for a great cause and Mole wishes them the best of luck. The challenge is taking place on 25 October and you can add to the cause by donating via www.justgiving.com/TBTLB-Support-Ollie-Young-Foundation
