LSN appoints development director

Legal Services Network has appointed a former IFA as its development director.

Stuart McCullough joins the inheritance tax advice network with more than 18 years experience in the industrial and financial services industry.

He will have responsibility for establishing new relationships with financial service provider professionals while helping to develop new products and services to market to the public.

He will also oversee implementation of new internal procedures and systems to increase the general efficiency of LSN’s business.

McCullough joins LSN from LV= where he was an independent financial advisor.

Prior to that, he held the post of director of recruitment, training and competency at Homebank Mortgage and Insurance Brokers.

McCullough says: “I’m delighted to bring my IFA experience to LSN as I believe there is a great opportunity for us to work closer and better with this sector.

“On critical issues such as inheritance tax and care cost planning it is far more beneficial for clients when those who write wills work alongside IFAs to provide expert advice.”

Bill Stewart, managing director of LSN in Scotland, says: “We have assembled an immensely experienced and respected team from across the UK’s professional will writers network, and we are delighted to welcome Stuart.

“The collective skills and expertise of our team will enable us to take forward our development strategy and accelerate the process of increasing the public’s awareness about inheritance tax and the importance of making a will.

“Stuart’s role of development director is a critical function within the organisation as he will help to raise the public’s knowledge about the potential inheritance tax and care cost problems they face.

“He will also help to grow our name awareness to ensure that people know where to turn for professional help and guidance.”

Calculate the benefits of insurance

I’m one of the loudest critics of the size of the Financial Services Authority’s annual budget and its lack of concern for the cost of regulation, so I was delighted to see its recent announcement on annual fees.
