Chelsea extend links with L&G

Chelsea is the first building society or bank to adopt Legal & Generals expanded single point of sale system, Online Protection.

This extends its existing general insurance relationship with Legal & General to include, for the first time, the sale of Legal & Generals life assurance products.

Online Protection promises to provide Chelsea customers an enhanced customer experience as the adviser can tailor a customers protection requirements more accurately by choosing from a wide range of products including accident, sickness and employment cover.

Previously, the adviser and customer were subjected to multiple forms. Instead, customers and their adviser will use a single form to access their chosen products from Legal & Generals value for money range. Both Legal & General and Chelsea believe that in an age where customers demand greater and quicker service this makes a real difference.

The development is strategically important as it provides Chelsea with a more efficient method of delivering more of its products and services while enhancing the customer experience. And from Legal & Generals point of view it is an integrated model which is being rolled out across the companys multi-channel distribution network.

Matthew Cape, of Chelsea, says: We are constantly striving to provide our members with a better customer experience and ensure that they are able to protect against future events. The use of state of the art technology in the shape of on-line protection, to provide Legal & Generals excellent products, is a driver behind this strategy as it will enable us to efficiently meet our members needs.

We will continue to evolve the proposition to include more of the products available as a result of the partnership between Legal & General and Chelsea Building Society.
