Mortgage Intelligence enters GI market

Mortgage Intelligence has launched general insurance in association with Halifax General Insurance.

The deal signifies the network’s GI debut for directly authorised members, in addition to further proposition enhancements for appointed representatives.

All members now have access to Halifax home buildings and contents insurance and also support from MI’s in-house insurance desk. Members may write the business themselves or refer the case directly to MI.

Additionally, the direct referral service ensures that policies can be written as quickly and effortlessly as possible.

Once referred MI will contact clients directly, take them through the application process and ensure all Treating Customers Fairly obligations are met with efficient, compliant service.

Sally Laker, managing director at MI, says: “We continually look at how best to improve our services for members, and are confident that the Halifax General Insurance offering will have real business benefit to them. It was crucial for us to collaborate with a partner whose product reflects the high standard and quality we insist on for our members, which we felt Halifax could offer.

“The added value of our referral route and insurance desk allows valuable time to be saved for brokers without compromising on their commission for completed policies.”

Jon Craven, head of mortgage intermediaries at Halifax General Insurance, adds: “The deal further strengthens Halifax’s relationship with MI and increases our product offering within its network.

“The deal is a key element of our ongoing strategy for growth in the intermediary market and our commitment to strengthening our offering to intermediaries and their clients.”
