Investors have found a new road to riches. The roller coaster ride on the stock and money markets has led investors to seek a safer investment alternative – whisky.

The World Whisky Index says prices for rare malts have soared in the past month, with a bottle of Glenfarclas 1955 that cost 2,000 last year now worth 6,000. If only the mortgage industry ploughed as much effort into whisky investment as it does consuming the stuff.
