Keeping it discreet

From Steve Scholes

Scottish Life Mortgages has 26 lenders on its panel who provide a vast range of products to meet customers needs both online and offline through its Mortgage Club and packaging facilities. SLM also offers virtual banking facilities such as general insurance and personal loans.

We have developed direct download functionality with key lender partners. Online applications can be prepopulated from fact-finds and direct download to our packaging system is on target for launch by March 2003.

Service delivery and speed of payment of proc fees from lenders are important drivers for intermediaries. During 2002 I have openly stated that SLM will always mention to introducers, for the benefit of their customers, lenders whose service is outside service standards and even suspend or remove them from the panel. Naturally SLM conducts this type of communication internally and works with its lender partners to improve service. It does not go to the press.
