Estate agents offered seller&#39s pack training courses

Estate agents preparing for the proposed introduction of seller&#39s packs are being offered training by SAVA Ltd, the Surveyors and Valuers Accreditation.

SAVA has launched a new certificate for estate agents likely to use seller&#39s packs in anticipation of the introduction of new requirements for vendors of residential property.

Officially titled Home Information Packs, the packs are likely to become mandatory under legislation expected in the spring and could be in use within three years.

The certificate, &#39Understanding Seller&#39s Packs&#39 will comprise three one-day conference and training days, to be held around the country. Venues in London, Nuneaton, Bristol, Wetherby and Lymm in Cheshire, all with easy access to the motorway network have been chosen for the sessions, with the first series of training days starting on February 20.

Estate agency industry pundit Maria Coleman, of Open Book, has been using seller&#39s packs in her own estate agency business for five years and will play a leading role in the courses.

SAVA chairman Ian Loncaster says: “In the current climate, it is vital that estate agents understand fully the requirements of seller&#39s packs. And for those who do not wish to try for the certificate, these training events will be valuable in themselves as they are designed to give estate agents the tools they will need to operate successfully in the new marketplace.”

SAVA Ltd can be contacted on 01483 755907 or by emailing info@sava.org.uk.
