Crystal Clear brokerage launched

Homebuyers will be offered fee-free and independent mortgage advice later this year with the launch of nationwide master-brokerage Crystal Clear Mortgages.

Though it will not have a formal panel, Crystal Clear is in talks with over 20 lenders including Scottish Widows, Standard Life, Halifax, Abbey National and Birmingham Midshires as it prepares to launch the service.

Crystal Clear is the first brokerage to enter into an agreement with third-party outsourcer Marlborough Stirling Mortgage Solutions to process cases submitted by introducers and IFAs. Customers will also be able to contact CCM direct through a MSMS-run call centre and website.

Crystal Clear have secured a £4m-a-year annual advertising budget and plan to market the proposition through television adverts and direct mailshots. It is also in the process of finalising a deal with a major IFA network to provide face-to-face advice from an IFA for those who want it.

Nick Baxter, who will be a non-executive director of CCM, told Mortgage Strategy: “There&#39s a market there for a crystal-clear, nationwide brokerage. This is not a network but an arrangement to satisfy customer demand for a fee-free, independent and national service.”

CCM expects to launch in October with Robin Tinsley, former sales and marketing director at Winterthur Life, taking control as CEO.
