L&G revamps online IFA centre

Legal & General has given its IFA Centre extranet a major facelift to simplify the navigation and make the site far easier to use

.

Legal & General has introduced a tiered access approach enabling all IFAs to reach a range of general information and product literature when they first visit IFA Centre.

Logging on will only be required when IFAs want to access information specific to their clients such as fund values and case tracking as well as undertaking transactions with Legal & General such as producing quotations and submitting applications for term assurance.

The online centre was launched in 1997 and now has 14,000 registered users. Legal & General expects the usage of the site to rise significantly following its redesign.

Key services now available to registered IFAs online include access to online term assurance, online ISAs, new business tracking, policy enquiries, valuations and various quotation systems. Legal & General has also added several new features to IFA Centre including a marketing support area which provides IFAs with ideas for product campaigns, presentations and information on the company&#39s recently launched IFA Marketing Guide.

Another new link enables IFAs to join Legal & General&#39s Mortgage Club and to access the range of exclusive mortgage deals negotiated by the company with leading UK lenders. Graham Newitt, protection and housing director, says: “We have used the experience we have gained over the last five years of e-enabling aspects of our IFA service to concentrate on what IFAs want from an extranet. Our IFA Centre is now geared up to fulfil the needs of IFAs going forward.”
