Grass is greener at Advantage

Sara Green made her long- awaited start at Advantage this month, where it is expected she will boost distribution after taking on the role of divisional sales manager for the south of England.

Green was a star performer in her previous incarnation as a BDM for Platform. Her departure from the firm where she had worked for six years would have dealt it a significant blow.

Green, who has been on gardening leave since August, will be responsible for managing and developing Advantages packager business relationships. She will report to business development director Jeremy Duncombe.

Duncombe says: What Sara brings to the company is a thorough understanding of the needs of mortgage intermediaries. Her appointment demonstrates our commitment to providing our partners with the highest quality of support.

Green adds: Advantage is in a strong position to help intermediaries cater to their clients needs. We are confident we can develop a win-win relationship with all the major players in the South.

Southern-based packager Solent Mortgage Services added Advantage to its lending panel at the start of the year and has launched a two-year fixed range with rates starting at 5.29% for near-prime plus. The range goes up to unlimited adverse and includes refund of valuation, self-cert up to 90% and up to 5% vendor and builder deposits accepted.

A new Right to Buy range and optional free legals package is also available.

Ian Balfour, sales and marketing director at SMS, says: Advantage has a clear understanding of the packaging market. We are sure intermediaries will react positively to the products, which are competitive.
