IMLA appoints Phil Rickards as chair

The Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association has appointed BM Solutions head Phil Rickards as its new chairman.

Rickards will take up his new role on 1 January 2018. He was appointed as IMLA deputy chairman in 2015 and has also been a director of the trade body.

He succeeds Kevin Purvey, head of intermediaries at Coventry Building Society, who returns to the role of IMLA director after two years as chairman.

Vida Homeloans director of sales Louisa Sedgwick has been appointed as deputy chair.

Bank of Ireland director of sales – UK mortgages Alison Pallett has been appointed as director.

Skipton Building Society head of intermediary sales Paul Darwin has been re-appointed as director.

The election also saw John Heron of Paragon Group step down from the board to take up a position on the UK Finance Mortgages and Product Service Board.

January 2018 will also see Kate Davies begin her role as executive director, succeeding Peter Williams after more than a decade in the role.

Rickards says: “I am looking forward to building on the fantastic contribution made by Kevin over the last two years, and collaborating with the rest of the board in this time of transition.”
