Insolvency Service bans property developer for 11 years


A Scottish property developer has been banned from being a company director for 11 years after an investigation by the Insolvency Service.

The department found former Scothouses Ltd director Avril Jane Elliott fraudulently reclaimed VAT between August 2008 and August 2013.

On 7 July 2016 Endinburgh-based Elliott pleaded guilty to fraudulently reclaiming £275,000.

She was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment on 25 August 2016.
