Health Shield features in 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For

Health Shield has made its debut in the 100 Best UK Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For 2013 survey. The Friendly Society was ranked at number 51 in the list from The SundayTimes.

Jonathan Burton, chief executive at Health Shield, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have entered the 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For list for the very first time — a glowing endorsement of the highest order.

“This acknowledgement reaffirms our commitment to building a successful organisation through high levels of employee engagement that translate into excellent customer service and satisfaction.”

He added: “Health Shield’s absolute priority is to provide affordable health care support for the widest possible community. Our mission of being trustworthy, caring and working with integrity, resonates with each and every employee — our greatest asset. Their desire to continually improve service levels across the business is fundamental to our future success, as we strive to help as many people as possible to remain fit and healthy.”

The survey achievement follows the company’s reaccreditation by Investors in People in 2012, on the 10th anniversary of its first endorsement.

Commenting in the report, the Investors in People assessor said: “Staff loyalty and dedication to customers is second to none.” It also highlighted the fact that Health Shield employees expressed considerable job satisfaction in serving the organisation’s members well. Overall, the summary concluded that Health Shield is a “most excellent” company to work for.

The Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For survey is based on the views of employees, as well as the policies and processes put in place by employers.

The survey identifies best practice and ranks companies on eight key performance indicators. These include: staff engagement, including leadership, personal growth and how happy the workforce is with its pay and benefits.
