Editor’s Note: Your bigger and better Mortgage Strategy has landed

Commane-Rebekah-2017

It’s with great pleasure that we today reveal the first issue of our new monthly print version of Mortgage Strategy.

After 16 years of producing weekly editions of your much-loved magazine, we felt it was time for a change, so we’ve moved to a bigger and better version, landing on your desks once a month.

Lots of new content has been added that we hope you’ll enjoy, such as our Head2Head column, which highlights opposing views on a specific topic. We also wanted to shine a spotlight on the work of small brokers with the addition of Broker Focus, and to provide an insight into the roles of those in the industry who sit more behind the scenes, with new page A Day in the Life.

There is plenty more to educate and entertain you, including Five Things You Should Know: bite-sized pieces of information on one topic.

You can also take a step back in time with 10 Years Ago and reflect on how much the industry has changed in the past decade; suffice to say it’s changed a lot!

Of course, we’ve kept tried-and-trusted favourites such as our various Watch, Comment and Opinion sections, One2One and the ever-popular Mole, who’s had a major facelift and henceforth will be referred to as ‘Sir Mole’!

And, because we don’t do things by halves at Mortgage Strategy, as well as delivering a new and improved print proposition we’ve given our website an overhaul. So hop on there and get a feel for the new look.

While the magazine will be more of a ‘lean back’ read with extra feature content, the website will be the first port of call for daily breaking news, and will feature regular commentary on topical issues.

While we’re at it, we’ve also started the ball rolling for next year’s Mortgage Strategy Awards.

Self-nominations have already closed and, as of tomorrow (13 September), the public vote opens, so start submitting!

We hope you’ve had a great summer and you enjoy reading this new magazine as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it!

Editor’s note: Time for change

Back in May, I let you know that Mortgage Strategy would be moving towards a more digital proposition from September, when we will publish on a monthly basis and concurrently launch an upgraded website. Following on from that announcement, this week will see our final print issue. It was crucial to me that we kept […]

Editor’s note: A new dawn…

Mortgage Strategy has been coming through your letterboxes on a weekly basis for 16 years and, while that may seem a relatively short period in the grand scheme of things, many big changes and events have occurred within the industry during that time and the title itself has gone through several evolutions. Back in September […]

Editor’s note: Grace under fire

While regulation is crucial to a healthy and controlled mortgage market, there is definitely such a thing as over-regulation. In recent years, the Mortgage Market Review created a huge shift in how home loans were sold, and which the industry paid for, literally. Then there was the Mortgage Credit Directive, which added further rules for […]

FCA warns banks on PPI claims

The regulator is warning it will crackdown on banks that don’t deal with payment protection insurance complaints adequately. The Financial Conduct Authority says it will be closely monitoring how banks handle PPI complaints ahead of the deadline for claims in August 2019. It comes after the FCA this month launched a campaign encouraging consumers to […]
