Darlington BS launches new mortgage for professionals

Darlington Building Society has announced a new “Professionals Mortgage,” available at 90 per cent LTV to people working in specific jobs, with rates starting from 3.69 per cent.

The new mortgage will allow borrowers to take on six times their salary as long as they are qualified for, registered as, and work in one of the following roles: accountant, barrister, dentist, engineer, medical doctor, optometrists, pharmacist, solicitor or vet.

Current salary plus an assessment of future earnings will be taken into account when would-be borrowers apply.

Darlington BS director of products and marketing Caroline Darnbrook comments: “We wanted to launch this exciting proposition to help professionals get on the housing ladder and move into their own home at a time to suit them.

“We provide an increased multiplier on salary to acknowledge the earning potential of these individuals and wanted to get them into their homes sooner.

“As a specialised lender which considers every case individually, we are pleased to be able to provide these solutions for people looking for a mortgage that is slightly out of the ordinary.”
