Atom Bank is planning to open up its distribution to directly-authorised brokers as part of its expansion plans.
The lender currently distributes through a limited number of appointed representatives.
Atom Bank director of retail mortgages Maria Harris says: ““As we’re so new and recently launched, we are working with a limited number of distribution partners while we build our balance sheet and capital position.
“As we grow our business and can support more market share, we will be looking to add additional networks and mortgage clubs to our panel.”
Atom Bank will monitor its business levels and expand distribution as soon as it can, according to Harris.
Harris adds that the firm wants to be a “true challenger bank in the mainstream market” and “give customers a genuine alternative to the current mortgage lenders”.
Recently, Atom launched an unprecedented offer which saw five-year fixes available at two-year rates, although the 1.29 per cent fix was pulled after just nine days.
