The mortgage mole

DIGGING THE DIRT IN THE MORTGAGE WORLD…

Good effort Mole would like to say a big well done to Jason Berry, head of distribution and strategy at Safe&Secure Insurance Services, who completed the Blenheim Palace triathlon on June 6 for Leukaemia Research.

The charity is focussed on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatment, and running clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.

Blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma affect individuals of all ages, from newborns to grandparents.

Berry’s target amount was £1,000 but he managed to beat this by raising a whopping £1,200. All the money raised will go to the charity.

Horny hope Strategy editor Robert Thickett has come up with a novel idea for keeping the team motivated and alert, and it involves the much-maligned vuvuzela that has been taking the World Cup by storm.

The annoying horns can be heard at every match in South Africa which has prompted many football fans to call for them to be banned. Even the players have spoken out about how bothersome they are, with some complaining they can’t hear calls from the dugout.

But always one to be contrary, Thickett left a post on a social networking website claiming he wants one for himself. This prompted industry stalwart Terry Pritchard to offer to buy Thickett one simply so he could claim “I gave you the horn”.

The Strategy crew is now on tenterhooks each time the post arrives in case Pritchard is true to his word.
