L&G launch iPhone app

Legal & General Network has launched an iPhone application for its Mortgage Club members.

The free app will be the first just for mortgage advisors and will allow brokers to search the market using basic borrower requirements such as loan amount, LTV and preferred rate type.

Results can be arranged by initial rate, initial payment or total to pay among others.

Simon Maskell, director of technology at Legal & General, says “Many brokers use iPhones these days so this is a useful way for them to engage with clients whilst they are out and about without the need to boot up a laptop.

“It’s a mortgage sourcing tool in an innovative format which means that ‘point of sale’ can now be anywhere you can get mobile reception.”

Quotes can be emailed to an adviser who can book an appointment and go through the quote and supply process in person.

David Aylmer, TrigoldCrystal business development and marketing director, who developed the app with L&G, adds: “We are very pleased to be using our technology to develop the new Legal & General Network mortgage sourcing iPhone app. With the explosion of the iPhone this is a great addition to the Mortgage Club and I am sure will help its members greatly.”
