Struck gold

DIGGING THE DIRT IN THE MORTGAGE WORLD…

With the price of gold rocketing, Tupperware style gold parties have been all the rage lately. And with Valentine’s Day only a couple of weeks away one firm is now looking to take the parties one stage further by tapping into the spurned lover market. With its anti-Valentine’s Day parties, Ounces2Pounds is inviting women to sell jewellery from ex-boyfriends and husbands.

“We see a lot of women selling items of jewellery from ex-husbands and boyfriends,” says Ounces2Pounds chief Krista Waddell. “These parties generate engagement and wedding rings.

“It’s an emotional release for many. It’s a way of cutting ties, but also putting a bit of money in their pockets and having a night out with the girls.”

Crumbs. There are probably more satisfying ways of getting revenge though - whatever happened to cutting up their clothes with scissors or sleeping with their best friend?
