Streamlined application process for RBS brokers
A specialist processing centre has been set up to only handle cases introduced by brokers as part of the restructure of Royal Bank of Scotland’s intermediary arm.
RBS is overhauling its broker division by dropping the RBS Intermediary Partners brand and adopting the name NatWest Intermediary Solutions.
The First Active, NatWest and The One Account brands will be scrapped, with all broker products marketed under the NatWest Inter-mediary Solutions brand.
As part of the move the lender is looking to streamline its application processes by having a dedicated processing centre to look after broker cases. Previously broker cases were handled by three centres that also dealt with direct business.
All broker applications to RBS will now be done at an existing processing centre in Birmingham that previously dealt with First Active business.
The Birmingham centre is operational and will complete the changeover to broker-only cases by January 29.
Graham Felstead, director of NatWest Intermediary Solutions, says: “This change goes beyond the branding, it’s more around our service proposition. We’ve now got a single brand, a single application form, a single phone number. It’s a complete simplification of our process and what the broker and the customer would expect from us.”
Under NatWest Intermediary Solutions, RBS plans to launch a range of mortgages and will also introduce savings, protection, and investment products for brokers.
The changes at RBS will come into effect at the end of the month.
