Teachers BS branches out from education
Dorset-based Teachers Building Society is making its mortgage service available to people outside of the education profession in the BH postal area.
With a product range starting from 3.74%, the society is hoping to build on its membership in the local area, where it has successfully marketed its savings products with a campaign launched in March this year.
Teachers already has a significant number of local savers and teacher borrowers within a 20 mile radius of its Wimborne base.
Alan Gravett, head of sales and marketing at Teachers, says “Like other building societies, we have naturally built up a strong base of members in the local area and it makes sense to offer our mortgage service to people in our postal area.
“We are proud of our reputation for providing a friendly, personal service and, while we will always specialise in mortgages for teachers, we want local people to know that they, too, can come to us for a mortgage.”
Teachers Building Society is a direct operator.
