MoJ investigating Cartel Client Review

The Ministry of Justice has confirmed to Mortgage Strategy that it is currently investigating claims management firm Cartel Client Review.

A spokeswoman for the MoJ, which regulates claims management firms, has not given the specifics of the investigation.

But she says: “The claims management regulator is investigating Cartel Client Review Limited and associated businesses.

“We are not able to comment on the specific issue of our investigation as to do so could jeopardise the progress and outcome of the investigation.”

The Manchester based claims firm is headed up by chief executive Carl Wright and is one of the largest financial claims firms in the UK.

It has in the past signed up a number of mortgage brokers to act as agents for the firm.

It offers to help clients claim for money that is owed on debts such as credit cards, loans and mortgages. It looks for financial irregularities in contracts that could entitle the customer to financial redress and compensation.

Mortgage Strategy contacted Cartel for comment but it was unable to comment on the MoJ’s investigation, however it did respond to allegations made in the BBC’s Money Box programme at the weekend, relating to the firm.

Wright says: “We are currently consulting our solicitors following the recent publication of false and misleading information.

“Unfortunately the production team for a certain radio programme decided to use information provided without the evidence necessary to ensure the total accuracy of their programme. This level of incompetent reporting has now led to the publication of false and misleading information.

“As stated above the position regarding the content of the programme is being considered by our legal representatives and for the avoidance of doubt our solicitors will consider the legal position should any of the false information be reproduced by any other press or media publication.”

  • Your clients are extremely lucky assuming you are being honest. They appear to be in rather a small minority. It is impossible to get any contact or updates with this Company so please tell me how your clients managed it?
