A tasteless political fudge

The day after the Pre-Budget Report last week, at a gathering of mortgage brokers in London only one topic dominated conversation. Was it Stamp Duty? No. Securitisation? Are you kidding? No, the topic to get everyone’s tongues wagging was the daily revelations about Tiger Woods’ love life because sadly there was precious little in the Pre-Budget Report to interest the mortgage market.
