RPS launches online rent-back calculator

Sale-and-rent-back firm Residential Property Solutions has launched a new website which includes a product calculator to help brokers decide if rent-back is appropriate for their clients.

The calculator, available through the Introducers section on the RPS website and under the Product Options tab, requires brokers to enter the value of their client’s property and a realistic monthly affordable rent figure.

It then shows how much RPS is willing to pay for the client’s home and the discount it’s willing to offer the client if they want to buy back their home in the future.

The calculation is based on an Assured Shorthold Tenancy period ranging from 2 to 5 years.

Once the broker has decided that rent-back may be suitable, clients are then referred to RPS who then provide the advice.

The new RPS website features a stage-by-stage explanation of how rent-back works, case studies, downloadable documents and a broker registration facility.

Pete Thomson, sales director at RPS, says: “Since we opened our doors for business in May last year, RPS has been determined to present rent-back in a clear and professional way, so that brokers can see that it’s a valid alternative for borrowers facing financial difficulties.”
