Last week also saw the annual Council of Mortgage Lenders conference take place and Mole was tickled by the way Paul Lewis, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Money Box, attempted to lighten the mood.
After a heavy speech by Jon Pain, managing director of retail markets at the FSA, highlighting the gravity of the arrears situation and the recent hefty fine handed out to GMAC-RFC it was time for audience questions.
But there was silence from the floor so Lewis tried to spur someone to come forward.
“Anyone here from GMAC?” he asked. “No? Moving swiftly on…”
