Nationwide launches first ever broker BDMs
The lender has trained and released 48 BDMs to meet with brokers up and down the UK in addition to a team of business development advisers who will provide telephone support to brokers in areas that are difficult to service.
Matthew Wyles, non retail director at Nationwide, says: "Contacting BDMs will no longer be a lottery but a guarantee.
"Nationwide has not only launched a team of broker BDMs but also 21 sales support assistants who will be on call at offices to address any broker questions if the BDM is not available."
As part of the scheme the sales support assistants take on as much ownership of cases and clients as the BDM and are therefore capable of providing strong support if a BDM is unavailable.
This is the first of three key steps that make up Nationwide's new broker- focussed business plan.
