Natalie Holt
Mortgages.co.uk has seen the number of its users soar by 500% in the space of half a day following the surprise decision from the Bank of England to cut interest rates.
The consumer mortgage portal also recorded a 250% increase in borrowers submitting full enquiries to the website.
Overall page impressions, which indicate the number of consumers looking at the content on the site, have also gone up by 300%.
Kevin Friend, strategic partnerships director at Mortgages.co.uk, says: “If lenders are able to meet this demand with rate reductions this spells good news to mortgage brokers.”
