HMRC seeks to wind up Credit Issues

HM Revenue & Customs has issued a winding up order against claims firm Credit Issues, part of the Guardian Financial Group.

The Gateshead based claims firm has now entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement which is intended to give the firm time to pay back some of its debts.

HMRC’s debts totalled £370,000 with Betesh Partnership Solicitors owed £29,321.

One mortgage broker who placed a case with the firm has been told that his client’s case has now been passed onto a firm of solicitors who are assessing whether the claim is unenforceable.

HMRC issued the winding up order on February 23 and it was being heard today in the High Court of Justice.

A CVA is a binding agreement between a firm and its creditors about payment of all, or part of, its debts over an agreed period of time.

One mortgage broker has however been told that he is classed as an unsecured creditor, which means he may not receive the entire amount he is owed.

Claims firms Cartel Client Review and Ratio Money recently stopped trading.

  • You can get a refund under secton 75 by contacting your credit card company if you paid the Credit Issues fees by this method. I have just had a full refund of £900.
