MIKE JONES: IMPORTANT STEP FOR BROKER TEAM

Lloyds Banking Group has announced who it is retaining to head its intermediary sales teams.

Last week Mortgage Strategy revealed that all three of its sales heads had been asked to reapply for their jobs as part of the restructuring of the business, along with Maria Harris, head of national accounts.

Ian Wilson has kept his position as head of sales at Halifax Intermediaries as has Phil Rickards, head of sales at BM Solutions. Harris has also been retained.
Kevin Purvey, head of sales at Cheltenham & Gloucester and Scottish Widows Bank, has not kept his role. The lender says Purvey is now looking at his options both inside and outside the bank.

Lloyds group announced in March that it was scrapping its C&G brand through brokers, which resulted in it only operating two sales teams instead of three.
Mike Jones, sales director for mortgages at Lloyds group, says: “This is an important step in building our intermediary team and I look forward to working with Maria, Phil and Ian. I also thank Kevin for his contribution over the years.”

Meanwhile, Lloyds group last week announced that it is to shed a further 325 roles within its wholesale and group operations divisions.
