Light touch

As Christmas approaches many in the industry may be concerned about business levels for next year, the Mortgage Market Review and the possibility of increased regulation.

But for one industry expert there are apparently more pressing issues. Mole was enjoying his breakfast watching the news on television last week when who should pop up on the screen but Vic Jannels, group executive chairman of All Types of Mortgages.

In a segment on Christmas lights BBC Breakfast visited Horsham, Sussex where Jannels lives, to discuss the council’s decision to cut back on festive displays.

The council was roundly lambasted for its paltry effort and local businessman Jannels was on hand to give his opinion. AToM’s finest said the lack of lights could have a detrimental affect on trade in the town.

With AToM one of the few surviving packagers, no doubt Jannels knows a foolish move when he sees one and Mole wishes him all the best in his battle against the Scrooges of Horsham.
