West Bromwich to rebrand

West Bromwich Building Society is set to rebrand this month.

The society says it plans to unveil its new brand imminently and it will reflect the society’s improved outlook.

It recently posted a loss after tax of £11.2m for the year to March 31, but this was a significant improvement on its loss of £39.3m the previous year.

The society is believed to have told its members that it will introduce a new brand to represent its place as a leading financial provider in Birmingham.

A spokeswoman for the society says: “We are looking at rebranding which will reflect the improvement we have made in our financial results and represent the vibrant and positive future that we have ahead of us.”

In June 2009 West Bromwich created Profit Participating Deferred Shares, which converted £182.5m of its debt into shares.

The society also announced recently that it has signed a conditional agreement for the sale of Mortgageforce to its management team for a nominal consideration while retaining a minority interest.
