Clive Kornitzer takes new role at Santander

Clive Kornitzer has left the position of chief operating officer at Abbey for Intermediaries to take up a new role in the business to develop a proposition for mass affluent consumers.

Kornitzer has been in the chief operating officer role at Abbey for Intermediaries since joining Abbey from John Charcol in 2006.

His role has been to oversee the development and improvement of AfI’s network and lead its strategic projects.

His responsibilities will now fall under the remit of Norman Wren, director of services.

It comes as parent group Santander is in the process of rolling out a rebrand of its Abbey branches, as well as the branches of fellow UK subsidiary Bradford & Bingley.

Alliance & Leicester, also owned by the Spanish banking group, will be rebranded later in the year.

The move also follows an earlier reshuffle of the Santander UK mortgage division, which saw director of mortgages Nici Audhlam-Gardiner appointed as director of banking.

Phil Cliff, formerly the lender’s director of commercial product management, has now taken the director of mortgages role.
