Lloyds appoints new mortgage sales director
Mike Jones has been appointed as mortgage sales director for Lloyds Banking Group, following Nigel Stockton’s departure.

Jones will hold responsibility for all mortgage sales activity across Lloyds Banking Group brands.
He will oversee intermediary sales, direct sales via the branch network and telephone and internet sales.
He most recently held the role of network director at London and South East for Lloyds TSB Community Bank.
Stockton announced his departure from Lloyds in August, he will join Countrywide on October 1 as financial services development director.
Colin Walsh, managing director for mortgages at Lloyds Banking Group, says: “I am extremely pleased to welcome Mike to this high profile role.
“I know he brings with him expertise and enthusiasm, this will help us to continue to grow and shape our leading mortgage business.”

A very telling appointment and couldn't be a clearer signal of Lloyds' intentions to drive mortgages through their direct channels.

I think this is a clear case of the blind leading the blind, what quailities does this man bring to the market place, has he interfaced with the intermediary market at any time in his career , if not then how many months before the "Position Vacant" sign comes up again at the jumping Black Horse

Try as they might, banks and BS have an abysmal track record on direct sales. Even with give away rates and incentives they still only managed to do 39% of all mortgages in the first half of 2010.
