Halifax sweeps up at L&G awards
Halifax Intermediaries has won the best overall lender prize at the Legal & General Mortgage Club Awards.
The lender won four awards in total including best lender for intermediaries, existing customers and mainstream purchase products.
The ceremony was held at a lunch at the Guildhall in central London with the winners chosen by a vote of the 8,000 Club members to assess the last 12 months.
Other winners on the day included BM Solutions for best lender for service and buy to let products and Nationwide for Intermediaries which won best lender for sales and marketing.
Abbey for Intermediaries and Woolwich Mortgages won best lender for mainstream remortgage products and best lender for offset products respectively.
Individual awards went to Doreen Kerr from Nationwide for Intermediaries who was named business development manager of the year,
Ben Thompson, director of mortgages at Legal & General, says: “Now in its tenth year, our Mortgage Club Awards have become one of the key events on the annual calendar recognising the best that lenders have to offer. This year is also a key milestone for us at it is our fifteen year ‘anniversary’.
“Congratulations to Halifax Intermediaries for a very strong showing again this year. It’s been a difficult twelve months, but these lenders are showing that they can do well by maintaining very high standards. Our Mortgage Club has also managed to thrive and we have been very successful at bringing new lenders and new products to market.”
Mortgage Club members also received awards with Mortgage Advice Bureau voted the top overall mortgage business.
